Custom Meeting Recap for Training

Do you or your organisation deliver training via Teams? Do you record those sessions? Does the trainer (or meeting organiser) have Microsoft 365 Copilot license? If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions then this idea is for you!

Learning is most effective when we are exposed to new information is in different ways, via different mediums and at different times, so lets use the power of Copilot to add another layer to the learning.

Create a custom meeting recap tailored to recap the training session which you can share with attendees a short time (1-2 days) after the session. This not only serves as a reminder of the session, but helps to reinforce the learning and recommended follow up actions and give a helpful way for them to find the information again and again.

I’m trying out the following custom summary and I really like the output.

Create a summary for learners attending this training session.
Write in British English using clear explanations and technical terms only as necessary but predominately simple language suitable for people learning the topic discussed in the meeting.
Start with an Overview including the title of the event, date, start time, main speakers (session presenters) and 1 sentence overview of the topic.
Include
- the key learning points discussed
- follow up actions recommended
- any details of reference materials or sources recommended
- any reference links shared in the chat during the session by the presenters
- summary of questions asked and answers given

Share this summary via email with attendees, add in a link to the session recording and/or an audio overview of any training materials and you’ve given your trainees multiple, easily accessible ways to recap and reinforce their learning!

Next, I’m off to try this prompt with Facilitator Agent in a meeting so it immediately shows in the chat for all attendees too. Though I much prefer the share via email for longevity of reference.
